DevOps Engineer (вакансія неактивна)

Cogniance is looking for DevOPS Engineer to join our new project.

Project
Our client is a well-known platform which helps improve user experience via collecting, storing and analyzing large amounts of user behaviour data. You would be working with a big data system with hundreds of servers and wide network of users all over the world. This includes cooperating closely with the client’s in-house team (overseas as well as in Ukraine) to automate the deployment of all new features to the end user.

Your responsibilities will include:
— Design and implementation of deployment pipeline for the data aggregation platform and the user facing reporting application, including:
• automatic provisioning of the EC2 instances and other resources from AWS, a la ‘i want to click a button to get 50 machines for the new environment’
• standardizing company’s approach to code structure, artifact versioning etc that pave the way to techniques like continuous delivery
• make a move from continuous integration(currently working) to continuous delivery and continuous deployment.The main tool so far is Chef but the client is evaluating the use of ThoughtWorks Go-cd
— Ensure data aggregation platform stability and ability to scale:
• the system so far uses Apache Spark to process large amounts of incoming data and Vertica as a data warehouse solution
— Working with internal Boston team towards including the features they produce to the unified delivery pipeline:
• this involves spending couple of original months at Boston office to get up to speed and make initial progress

Essential skills
— Bachelors degree (or equivalent work experience)
— Linux/Unix administration
— Software deployment experience
— Networking fundamentals
— Versioning (Git, SVN, etc)
— Scripting/programming skill (Bash, Python, Ruby, etc)
— Monitoring tools (Nagios, Cacti, etc)
— Excellent written communication (English)

DevOps skills (at least two of following)
— Configuration management (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt, etc.)
— Cloud/virtualization experience (AWS, KVM/XEN, Vagrant, Docker, etc)
— Continuous integration/delivery (Jenkins, Teamcity, etc)

Bonus skills
— Relational DB experience (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc)
— noSQL DB knowledge (Redis, Memcached, HBase, MongoDB, etc)
— Apache Spark, Vertica, ThoughtWorks-Go
